Janice W. Lumpkin, age 62 of Rome passed away Saturday May 20, 2017 at her home following a brief illness.
Janice was a native of Floyd County , she was born in Fort Valley, Ga. January 26, 1955 a daughter of the late Frank and Gloria Locklear West. Janice worked for Galey &Lord until it closed, she then worked at West Rome Wal-Mart in the Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Tech for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ken Madden on August 10, 2014.
Survivors include, her husband, Bill Lumpkin, two step sons, Terry (Joy) Lumpkin, Sharpsburg, Ga; Jeff (Charlene) Lumpkin, Cedartown, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla) Lumpkin, Halie (Chase) Parker, Justin (Kristen) Lumpkin, five great grandchildren, Abbie and Annie Lumpkin, JoJo McGeet, Kaleb Coleman, Elijah Lumpkin. Three sisters, Beverly (Michael) Lashley, Margaret (James) Casey, Patsy Madden, all of Rome; brother, James West, Rome; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday May 24, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Brandon Bruce, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the hour of service, on Wednesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga.
