Johnny Roland Obituary
Johnny Conn Roland, age 75, of Rome passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 19, 2017.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Roland was born February 28, 1942, son of the late Luther Roland and Lillian Walraven Roland. He was a retired employee of Bekaert Steel Wire and enjoyed metal detecting, cave exploring, scuba diving, and stamp and coin collecting. He had a very strong work ethic . Mr. Roland was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Dobbs Roland on August 10, 2013.
Survivors include two daughters Angie Hall and Kimberly Hood; grandchildren Haley Tynan, Alex Hall, Hayden Hood, and Heaven Hood; Great grandchildren Davin Tynan and Lila Hood. A sister Jean Robbins also survives.
Memorial services will be conducted at 6PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue, with Reverend officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8 PM. Private interment services will be conducted at at a later date at Bush Arbor Cemetery.
