Mike Combs
Mike Combs, age 63, of Rome passed away Saturday morning, July 9, 2016 at his residence following a short illness.
A native of Albuqerque, New Mexico, Mr. Combs was born May 26, 1953, son of the late Norman Ethridge Combs and Ernie Mae Milton Combs. He resided in Rome most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Forrestal. Mike was employed as an electrician with Kelloggs and in his spare time enjoyed boating, spear fishing, scuba diving, and reading.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Cherry" Stone Combs, to whom he was married June 10, 1972; son Jason Combs and daughter Shilo Ann Combs; grandchildren Mikey and Eliza Combs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM Tuesday, July 12, in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Tommy Justice officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens with the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 American Legion Honor Guard conducting military honors.
