Morris Casey Obituary
Mr. Morris M. Casey, age 86, of Rome passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2015 in a local hospital.
A native of Rome, Mr. Casey was born May 13, 1928 son of the late Henry E. Casey and Maybell Culberson Casey. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church , Georgia Mountain Music Club, Oostanaula Lodge #113 F&AM, and the GE Retirees Association. He enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, and fishing. Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by his wife Belle Watts Casey.
Survivors include a son Roger Casey of Summerville; daughters Diane Christian of Rome, and Cathie Gunter of Clarkesville. Two sisters Sue Farmer and Imogene Martin ; grandchildren Grant Gunter, Laura Casey, Carla Chisolm, and Cara English and eight great grandchildren, along withtwo special and dear friends Flonnie M. Stuart and Dugan Farmer also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Stinson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Honor Guard of the Shanklin - Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion providing military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 PM until the service hour. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Johnny Edwards, Britt Farmer, Grant Gunter, Fletcher Christian, Jimmy Gunter, and Mike Farmer.
