Nina Murdock Obituary
Nina Ann Burns Murdock, age 84, of Rome passed away Wednesday January 8, 2020 at her residence.
Nina was born August 22, 1935 in Rome GA. to the late Don Edwards Burns and Jessie Mae Miller. She was a graduate of Rome High School, and also worked at McCall Hospital. On March 3, 1955 Nina married the love of her life of 41 years, Winston. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and a devoted Christian, and loved being a wife, a mother, making clothes for her family, gardening, and sharing the fruits of her labor with her family and friends. She loved being a "Room mother" at school and a mother to the children in the neighborhood and church. She would always have homemade treats and kool-aid on hand. She loved her church and served in many capacities throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her husband: Winston Ray Murdock; her parents; mother in law who was considered a mother: Susie Mae Murdock
Survivors include two daughters: Ava Lynn (Joe) Williams, and Donna Gwinn (Ron) Olson; grandchildren: Joey Williams, Ann Bramlette, Jessica Lyon, Tiffany Puckett, Heather Wasson, Ray Olsen; great grandchildren: Nathan Bramlette, Kyndle Bramlette, Kasey Lyon, Abigail Puckett, Charlie Lyon, Landon Puckett; sister: Wanda Dean; A loving extended family including a brother in law, sisters in laws, nieces and nephews, many cousins that she loved dearly as well as her church family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 11, 2020 at Riverside Baptist Church, with Rev. Randy Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM on Friday January 10, 2020 at Riverside Baptist Church, 48 Ash Street Rome GA. 30161
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen: Joe Williams, Ray Olsen, Dustin Puckett, Michael Skeen, Cary McCullough, Chuck Bryant.
