Patsy Louise Knight Vandiver, age 68, of Rome passed away Monday January 6, 2020 at a local hospital. Patsy was born on January 26, 1951 in Rhea TN. to the late Melvin Knight and Kathleen Colvin Knight. She was a housewife and mother. Her hobbies were word seek puzzle books, adult coloring book the last year of her life, and crocheting. Patsy’s goal in life was to make everyone in her family and Afghan blanket, she tried her hardest but the family just kept growing faster than she could make them. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings: Allen Ray Knight, Rhonda McCord, and Nancy Nelson. Survivors include her husband Hubert “Buddy” Vandiver; daughters: Pamela Vandiver, and Connie Vandiver, both of Rome; siblings: Rita (Darren) Puryear, of Rome, Barbara (Charles) Isom, of Rome, Carolyn (Larry) Wade, of Rome, Regina Knight, of Rome, Teresa Knight, of Rome, and Crystal (Ray) Richards, of Cedartown; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 9, 2020 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Bohannon officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday January 8, 2020 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165. Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
