Patty Jo Puryear
Patty Jo "Miss Pat" Puryear, 77, of Armuchee passed away Saturday morning, February 17, 2018 in a local health care facility.
A native of Peoria, Illinois Mrs. Puryear was born December 19, 1940 daughter of the late Elmer Ray Fonner and Mary Priscilla Weaver Fonner. She had been a resident of Rome most of her life and was a member of the Armuchee Baptist Churchand was active in the WMU. "Miss Pat" and her husband Thonn took the temporary job of supplying pizza and snacks for the children on Wednesday night. 15 years later they were still enjoying that ministry. They were both active in the Baptist Center food pantry ministryfor over 25 years Prior to retirement, she worked for Carmire and Kuhlman Chenille in Adairsville. Mrs. Puryear was a graduate of East Peoria High School and enjoyed horseback riding and traveling to gospel concerts. She was preceded in death by a brother Charles Fonner.
Survivors include her husband Thonn Puryear; son Darren Puryear and his wife Rita ; daughter Raeanne Stanley; grandchildren Eric and Mike Stanley, Jason Puryear, Mandy Hicks, Brandy McGaskey; Great grandchildren Laken, Mike, Zoe and Belle Stanley, Sierra Casteel, Lauren Brown, and Dakota Hicks; great great grandchild Penelope Casteel; brothers Marion and Terry Fonner.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, February 19, 2018 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Reverend Brian Evans and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 until 2 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Armuchee Baptist Church WMU, 6648 Big Texas Valley Road, Rome GA 30165.
