Roger Dana Cox

Roger Dana Cox, age 66, of Rome passed away Wednesday February 2, 2022. Roger was born on September 28, 1955 in Ball Ground GA., to the late Buman Cox and Nellie Onalee Ray Cox. Roger Cox was a very godly man. He was a hard worker and always put his family first. He was very athletic all through his school years. He worked with Waffle House for many years as a district manager. When he left Waffle House he went to work for packaging products and was there for over twenty years until his death. He loved all kinds of vehicles and would constantly trade around to have different ones. He always loved music as well. He was a classic oldies fan most of the time. He loved his wife of 42 years very much. He loved his kids and grandkids to no end. He was definitely a wonderful father and grandfather. He will greatly be missed. He’s definitely one of a kind. He had a kind and generous heart and would give the shirt off of his back. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother: Catherine Cox; brothers: Walter Franklin Gann, Robert Eugene Jarrett, Tony Gerald Cox, Michael Buman Cox. Survivors include his wife: Barbara Ann Cox; children: Matthew J. Boykin, April Sue Cox Chambers, Tonya Michelle Cox Stover; grandchildren: Joseph Caleb Chambers, Savannah Grace Rosenbaum, Chloe Myshell Stover, and Brylee Josephine Boykin; siblings: Jackie Lynn Cox, Sylvia Diane Cox, Tammy Cox Rymer. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday February 7, 2022 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home with Rev. Vince Gulledge officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165. Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
