Ronald Maurice Millican, age 76, of Rome died on Monday, October 24, 2016 .
A native of Rome, Ron was born October 4, 1940 son of the late Maurice Alton "Pete" Millican and Carolyn Lou Brown Millican. He was a member of the first graduating class (1959) of East Rome High School and retired from Florida Rock Industries in 2004. Ron was also employed with Life of Georgia Insurance Company. He enjoyed playing golf and reading, especially Westerns and science fiction. Ron was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Ron was married three times. First to the late Cherrie Marie Harper,mother of Scott and Doug; second to Irene Walker, mother of his only daughter Michelle and third to Patricia Ann Watson, motherof Justin and Patrick.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Patricia Ann (Pat) Watson Millican; sons Gregory Scott Millican (Cindy) of Colorado Springs, CO and Ronald Douglas Millican (Carol) of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Renee Michelle Grant (Quint) of Adairsville; sons Justin Michael Millicanof Rome and Patrick Andrew Millican (Kiersten) of Dallas, GA. Two sisters Judy Gumm (Ken) of Vienna, W VA and Kay Thomas (Wendell) of Richmond, VA. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3300 Garden Lakes Parkway, Rome. Interment will follow at the Myrtle Hill Mausoleum.
