Sandra Jean Burnes, age 66, passed away June 18, 2017, in Bainbridge, GA.
Sandra was born in Rome, GA, Sept. 1, 1950. An only child, she was predeceased by father Edgar Evans Burnes on Jan. 6, 1997, and mother Louise Horton Burnes on Nov. 9, 1984. Sandra's grandparents were James Edgar Burnes and Pearl Floyd Burnes, and Cicero "Dink" Thomas Horton and Mary Lou Coppage Horton. Sandra was born with special needs, and in 1995 went to live in a Georgia Baptist group home in Bainbridge, GA. Later, she moved to Bainbridge Health Care, where she lived until her death. Sandra loved her books, getting her hair done every week, cookies and her church.
Her first cousins, Annette Burns Hastings and Patricia Burns Hammond, have cared for her since her parents' death. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at East View Cemetery with Dr. Joe Baskin officiating.
