Shirley Walters Obituary
Shirley L. Walters, age 72, of Rockmart and formerly of Rome, passed away Friday evening, September 18, 2015 at her residence.
A native of Rome, Shirley was born October 20, 1943 daughter of the late James Henry Yarbrough and Linda Hill Johnson Yarbrough. Shirley was a certified nursing assistant and was employed with Creswell/Beverly/Golden Living Nursing Home on Redmond Road. She was an animal lover, loved taking care of her family, and enjoyed a good time. She loved to read, watch soap operas, do crafts, facebook, and was a big Beatles fan. Shirley thought the smartphone was the greatest thing ever invented.
Survivors include her husband Timothy Cary Walters of Rockmart, two daughters Jessica Hite(Steven) of Rockmart and Wendy Crumley(Alan) of Cedartown; Five grandchildren Chloe Crumley, Jaxson Crumley, Jacey Hite, Carson Hite, and Waylon Hite; sister Louie Mae Cook(Richard) of Macon, niece and nephew Karen Cook Taylor of California and Mark Cook of Macon, several cousins and a special cousin Michael Johnson also survive.
Shirley's life will be celebrated Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Bobby Stephens officiating.
