Sidney Dean Fincher

Sidney Dean Fincher, age 72, of Rome passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Fincher was born on April 1, 1947 to the late Lincoln Fincher and Wilma Jean Duncan (Crocker). Mr. Fincher attended East Rome High School. Mr. Fincher served in the US Army and received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and was recognized as a sharpshooter in the Vietnam War from 1968-70. He worked at Darlington School as a bus driver and Hess Gas station in Rome for many years. He also worked at Frick's Brothers Furniture shop for over 10 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Eugene Duncan (1990), son, Robert "Rob" Dean Fincher, Sr. (2009), and stepson, Darrell Gene Patterson (2011). Survivors include his wife: Sandra Fincher; daughter: April Allen; stepdaughter: Lisa Atkisson; grandchildren: Cederick Carter, Jr., Robert "Bo" Fincher,Jr., Christopher Stringer; Chasity Atkisson, Nia Allen; and great grandchildren: I'sis Carter, K"Dynce Carter, and Robert Fincher III "Trey"

Memorial service will be held at 5 P.M. on Wednesday September 11, 2019 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home with Rev. George Nix officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until 5 P.M. on Wednesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave Rome GA. 30165.
