Stephen Lynn "Steve" Salmon, age 52 of 29 Elmwood Street, the Riverside Community of Rome, died March 31, 2019 from complications of lung cancer. Before the sudden onset of illness, Steve was a full time caregiver to the late Mrs. Annie Brock and his late father, Clarence "Snookie" Salmon also of the Riverside Community. Steve will long be remembered for his overall helpful and friendly nature and irreverent yet funny sense of humor.
Steve was born February 14, 1967 in Rome, Georgia to the late Jeri Craig Salmon and Clarence "Snookie" Salmon, who preceded him in death in 2010 & 2012, respectively. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Godfred Salmon; maternal grandmother Maude Craig. For most of his life, Steve was a longtime resident of Rome & Floyd County, also residing in West Rome & Silver Creek.
Survivors include one sister, Margaret "Meg" Salmon; one brother, Lee Salmon, Spokane, Washington; favorite aunt and uncle, Jack & Betty Craig, Adairsville, Georgia. Special friends: Misty Raburn, Bobby Brock, & Charlie Griffin. A number of cousins also survive. The family would like to send special thanks to Gail Martin, the Brock family & Hospice Care of Floyd Medical Center for their love and support over the past year.
At Steve's request, his remains were cremated. A memorial service will take place Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Blue Pond Baptist Church, 1274 Ward Mountain Road NE, Shannon, Georgia.
