Timothy Duggan Obituary

Timothy Lynn Duggan

Timothy Lynn Duggan born March 29, 1994 in Douglasville, Georgia entered into the presence of the LORD on May 26, 2016, following a battle with AML (Leukemia). His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed all his activities like dancing, baseball, and especially bowling. Timothy's friends in Rome and Hiram rallied to be by his side and ensure each day was filled with laughter and joy. His "girls" made sure he jammed out to his favorite tunes and stayed cool! He is certainly loved by all who knew him. His life of 22 years seemed too short to many but those who knew him understood the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Timothy standing 6"4 was often referred to as a gentle giant. He was also called T-Zone (after his bowling ball name), Bowling King, Basketball King, etc. Timothy's favorite team depended on who was playing and who was around. He loved all different kinds of music and could dance for hours. He loved his family and especially his dog Mac (whom he loving called Macaroni)

Timothy leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Timothy's love extends to his wonderful nurses and doctors that so mercifully helped with his healthcare decisions. There is a special place in our hearts for Timothy's friends at DIGS and Challenger Sports in Rome. Each one of them improved the quality of Timothy's life and we will remain eternally grateful. He was very proud to be part of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church in Rome, one of the most welcoming and loving churches I have ever visited. He recently was saved and then baptized there by his beloved Pastor Skip. He said "Jesus washed my sins away".

Timothy is survived by his loving parents, John and Donna Hampton; siblings Priscilla Duggan, Hannah Duggan, Jessica McFarland, Marvin Duggan, Jerry and Jeni Duggan, Sarah and Jason Niblett, Koty and Michelle Sawley, Hanna Hampton, John Hampton Jr. and so many friends that we consider family.

He will especially be missed by his Number One Grandma in Tennessee Gladys Duggan as well as his aunt's, cousins, extended family, and oh so many friends.

There will be a memorial service June 2, 2016 at 6:30 P.M. at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia. A reception and balloon release will follow the service.
