Mr. Zane Lester Blalock, age 68, of Rome passed away Friday March 13, 2015 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mr. Blalock was born August 23, 1946, in Floyd County a son of the late Julian Blalock and Elizabeth Carter Blalock. He was retired from General Electric after 20 years of service. Mr. Blalock was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Odom Blalock, and a son Stan Jones.
Survivors include two sons, Doug (Kay ) Jones, Monroe, Ga. ; Zachary Carter Blalock, Rome, grandchildren, Douglas Jones, Jr. Joshua Jones, and Jessica Jones.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday March 17, 2015, at Beech Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Rodger Whorton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday March 16, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
