Mrs. Amber Anita Murphy Thacker, aged 44, of LaGrange, Georgia, departed from this life on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Born to Angela Addington in Rome, Georgia, on September 12, 1978, Amber grew up surrounded by love and kinship, her life always echoing with the melodies of music, and her home always filled with the warmth of family.

Amber's love for music was profound. She was often found singing beautiful melodies as her fingers gracefully danced on the piano keys. The notes were not just tunes to her, but a gateway to her soul, an expression of her deepest emotions. In addition to her musical gifts, Amber had a fondness for animals. Their presence in her life added an extra layer of joy and contentment.

Yet, the core of Amber's world was her family. She loved her grandbabies with a depth that words cannot encapsulate. Every moment spent with her daughters and grandchildren was treasured, with every single memory etched in her heart forever.

She is predeceased by her beloved uncles, Phillip Murphy and Randall Murphy. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Michael Thacker; her loving daughters, Mylia Thacker White (Quin), Macie Thacker, and Layla Thacker; her precious grandchildren, Bow Carson Lee Bragg, Everette Michael White, John Ruger Addington, and Eleanor Estelle Addington; her brothers, Wayman Addington and Cody Addington (Whitney); and her sister, Ginger Johnson. 

In the echoing silence left by Amber's passing, her legacy of love, music, and undying devotion to family will forever remain. The notes of her songs and the warmth of her memories will forever resonate in the hearts of those who loved her.

The family will be holding a visitation in remembrance and to honor Amber’s life on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia, 30165. Following the visitation, the interment will be held at Bush Harbor Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the ceremony will include Michael Thacker, Cody Addington, Wayman Addington, Chad Murphy, Ricky Thacker, and Quin White.
