Betty L. Ely, age 87, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024. She was born on April 1, 1937, in Rome, Georgia, to the late Wood Roe Wilson and Mildred Louise Carroll.

Betty’s life was a tribute to strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. As a single mother, she raised her five children with steadfast love and determination, ensuring their needs were met and their hearts nurtured.

She is survived by her sons, Jamie Ely and Robin Ely, and her daughter, Lesia Tucker. Betty’s legacy also lives on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, David S. Ely, and her daughter, Theresa Ely Lindsey.

An avid reader of the Bible, Betty found solace and strength in scripture. She found simple joys in her daily routines, savoring the comfort of a good cup of coffee, the sweetness of coffee cake, and the indulgence of ice cream. She loved her canine companion and friend, her dog "Baby" that she loved tremendously.

After many years of dedicated work, Betty retired from Pet Bakery in Rome, Georgia.

Betty L. Ely will be remembered for her enduring faith, her love of life’s simple pleasures, and her devotion to her family.
