Betty White Obituary
Betty Louise White, age 85, of Rome passed away, Thursday
Morning, April 23, 2015 in a local hospital.
A native of Floyd Springs, Miss White was born October 7, 1929 daughter of the late Iva Jasmine Chambers White and John Cleaver White. She received her early education in the Floyd Springs Schools and attended the Berry Schools from 1944 until her graduation in 1951. After graduation, Miss White taught elementary grades in the Armuchee, Cave Spring, Cedartown, and Rockmart Schools. She was of the Methodist Faith and enjoyed walking and calligraphy. After retirement, she returned to Rome and resided here for the past twenty years. Miss White was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mildred June Proctor and a nephew Shawn White.
Survivors include her brother, Charles White and sister Hattie Charlene McCollum; Nieces and nephews Marsha Adkins, Pam Raymond, Vickie Dorsey, Mike, Tony, and Tim McCollum, Tammy Cox, Terry White, Jackie Clonts, Lynn Murphy, Cheyenne Rogers, and Sissy White. Thirty great nieces and nephews and a number of great great nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue. Graveside funeral and interment services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth.
