Bonnie Shaw Obituary

In Loving Memory of Mrs. Bonnie Louise Waters Shaw

June 8, 1938 – April 19, 2024

Mrs. Bonnie Louise Waters Shaw, aged 85, of Rome, Georgia, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, April 19, 2024. Born on June 8, 1938, in Rome to the late Clarence Eugene Waters and Lydia Louise Sheffield Waters, Bonnie's faith and family were the cornerstones of her life.

A devoted servant of Christ, Bonnie was a lifelong member of Waters Road Church of God. Her steadfast faith guided her through many joys and sorrows, always with grace and gratitude. She cherished her role within her church community, embodying the love and teachings of her Savior in all aspects of her life.

Bonnie's heart was truly defined by her love for her family. She was a beloved wife to the late Charles Robert (Pete) Shaw, Sr., with whom she shared over 55 years of dedicated marriage, filled with mutual respect and deep affection until his passing in 2014. Together, they built a legacy of love and faith that continues through their descendants.

She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly: her three sons, Charles Robert Shaw, Jr. (Angie), Victor Wayland Shaw (Julie), and Brian Vincent Shaw (Bonnie); her cherished grandchildren, Charles Robert Shaw, III (Jennifer), Jordan Orr (Thomas), Ryan Shaw (Alli), Aryn Moore (Matthew), McKenley Lochridge, Madalynn Lochridge, Karli Shaw, Charli Shaw, and Chloe Shaw; and her adored great-grandchildren, Ryder Shaw, Rhys Shaw, Evelyn Kitson, Rylyn Shedd, Rhett Shaw, Reagan Shaw, Eldon Orr, Lucy Orr, Elisabeth Eunice Orr, and four more great-grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by her brothers, Lloyd Waters, Doyle Waters, Donald Waters (Linda), and Cecil Waters (MarySue), and her sisters, Betty Jean Roberson, Carolyn Patterson (Larry), Barbara Gentry, and Connie West. In addition to her parents and husband, Bonnie was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Bagley.

Bonnie worked as the receiving clerk at Shaw Carpets until she retired. Though she had been a loyal and motivated employee, Bonnie looked to retirement with apparent relish, envisioning more time with her loved ones.

Bonnie cherished her family and gleefully welcomed each new member to the family as the little family she and Charles started grew in epic proportions. Her dear loved ones she left behind will miss her greatly and they will treasure each memory and thought lesson all the more.
