Carey Rogers Obituary

In Loving Memory of Carey James Rogers, Sr.
August 16, 1960 – February 8, 2024

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carey James Rogers, Sr., who left us on February 8, 2024, at the age of 63. A cherished son of the late James Luther Rogers, Carey was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, on August 16, 1960, and spent his final days surrounded by the love and warmth of his family in Rome, Georgia.

Carey’s journey through life was marked by the love he had for his family, a love so profound that it defined him. He was a beacon of strength and compassion, always putting the needs of his loved ones above his own. His legacy is carried on through his sons, Carey James Rogers, Jr., Brandon Lee Rogers, Brandon Shane Coker, Corey Gordon Coker, Billy Jared Rogers, and Christopher Chantz Rogers. Carey’s spirit will also live on in the memories shared with his cherished grandchildren, River, Alyssa, Dylan, Andrew, Bralyn, Levi, and Rowan, who brought immense joy and light into his life.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pattie Lynn Rogers, and his sister, Pat Williams, Carey’s departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. The loss of Pattie on February 13, 2023, just a day before Valentine’s Day, was a profound sorrow for Carey. Their love, a testament to time, now reunites them in eternity, together forever, in a place where Valentine’s Day is an everlasting embrace.

Survived also by his brothers, James Dale and David Wayne Willis, Carey’s memory will be honored and kept alive in the stories and laughter shared among those who knew him best. Carey was a man of resilience, kindness, and unwavering loyalty, qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beyond his family, Carey’s impact was felt by many, touching lives through simple acts of kindness, a listening ear, and a readiness to help anyone in need. His legacy is one of love, perseverance, and the importance of family, values that will continue to inspire and guide us.

Carey James Rogers, Sr.’s story is not one of farewell but a reminder of the enduring power of love and family. As we remember Carey, let us cherish the moments, embrace our loved ones a little tighter, and live with the kindness and generosity that he exemplified.

May his soul find peace and reunite with those he loved and missed dearly. Until we meet again, Carey will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
