Carol LuAnne Cox Early, age 69, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024. Lu Anne was born February 11, 1955, in Summerville, Georgia to Pat Worsham Cox of Summerville, Georgia and Donald Cox of Summerville, Georgia.
LuAnne is survived by her daughter Amanda Anne Early from Centre, AL. Her granddaughter, Katie from Tennessee and her grandson Kealan, from Covington, GA. She is also survived by her sister, Michelle Cox Stewart from Chattanooga, TN.
Early in LuAnne’s life she lived in Waterville, Ohio and attended grade school there. Upon returning to Rome to live with her father she attended Coosa High School. Soon after graduation she was hired by Southeastern Mills in Rome. She was immediately placed in the Quality Control Department and remained there for as long as she worked at Southeastern Mills. She then decided to pursue her extensive knowledge of growing, nurturing and producing beautiful plants and flowers. Some of her favorite flowers were yellow tulips, yellow roses and daffodils.
During this time LuAnne met and married Bruce Allen Early from Waynesboro, Georgia. They resided in Rome where she began working at Plant Life Nursery, Rome and then Walker’s Garden Center where she enjoyed working until she retired. Another passion of LuAnne’swas her love for all animals. Every stray dog that came to her door, received the best life she could offer.
The Memorial Service to honor LuAnne’s life will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. The service will begin at 7:00PM. Visitation will begin at 6:00PM. Pastor Shane Swafford will be officiating.
