Carolyn Justice

Carolyn Paulette (Smith) Justice, 76, of Rome, passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on April 19, 2023. She was born in Rome, Ga on January 15, 1947 to Paul Henry Smith and Mary Jo (Hardin) Smith. 

Carolyn attended Coosa High School. She also spent many years working at what was once World Carpet and later became Mohawk Industries. She retired in 2008 and spent the rest of her life enjoying her soap operas and looking after her loved ones. For many years she was a member of Bible Baptist Church. 

In 1964 she married Bobby Justice and welcomed their first child in May of 1966. They were married for 58 years and spent that time building their lives together. They have four children, Lisa, Christi, Scott, and Shane. After dedicating her life to working hard and raising her children, she then got to enjoy watching her grandchildren grow and thrive. 

Carolyn loved her big family of four children, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren (and a fourth on the way.) She also loved lighthouses, which is fitting, as she was a guiding light for so many people who now feel lost without her. She looked out for her family and loved them fiercely. Carolyn had a loving and giving soul, and anyone who entered her home never left hungry, she made sure of that. She even ensured that the neighborhood cats never went hungry. The world lost a wonderful, beautiful person who will always be missed and will never be forgotten. 

Carolyn is survived by her husband Bobby Justice, her children Lisa Culberson, Christi Justice, Scotty (Jessica) Justice, and Shane Justice, her grandchildren Damien Justice, Jaden Justice, Chris Hawkins, Ashley Hawkins, Bobby Justice, Brian (Jenna) Justice, Keegan Justice (Joe), Kevin (Katie) Culberson, Brandon Culberson, and her great grandchildren Jasmine Culberson, Paisleigh Culberson, Briar Justice, and, soon to be, Kevin Culberson Jr. Her three sisters Bonnie Stanley, Cathy (David) Elliott, Tammy (John) Walters. 

She was preceded in death by her sister Janie Sullins, mother Mary Jo Smith, and father Paul Henry Smith. 

Carolyn Justice was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She lived a long, full life and touched many hearts along the way. 

Family will receive friends on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 6:00PM till 8:00PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be the next day, Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 2:00PM following Interment at Oaknol Memorial Gardens. Officiant will be announced soon.

Pallbearers include Scotty Justice, Damien Justice, Brian Justice, Mark Grogan, Jay Darnell, B.J. Justice, Jamie Stanley. Honorary pallbearers include Chris Hawkins, Brandon Justice, Kevin Justice, Jaden Justice and Keegan Justice.
