On Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Cedartown, Georgia, the life of Charles Milton Turner, eighty-seven, came to its quiet close, a life marked by steady devotion to family, work, and kindness. He was born on November 28, 1937, to the late Rufus Clinton Turner and Zelda Jane Clayton Turner, who instilled in him the values of faith, perseverance, and humility that shaped his days.

Charles knew both love and loss across his years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Joyce Casey Turner, who was his partner through the seasons of joy and hardship, and by his brother Roy Turner and his sisters Evon Ebert, Jaunez Phillips, and Ima LaBlanc, who shared the memories of his earliest days. He leaves behind a circle of family who will carry his memory forward: his son, Charles Robert Turner; his brothers Paul Clinton Turner and Dan Ormand Turner and his wife Sandy Leah Tirner; and his sister, Linda Turner Edge.

A veteran of the United States Army Reserves, Charles served his country with honor before returning to Cedartown to build a life grounded in honest labor and quiet constancy. He took up the trade of a mechanic, and in that work he found both purpose and pride. With skillful hands and a patient spirit, he repaired what was broken, providing for his family and offering his neighbors the same ready help. Charles was a man easy to know, with a great sense of humor, humble in his ways, with a gentle manner that drew affection from all who crossed his path. Folks remember him as the sweetest of men, one who never failed to extend himself to those in need.

Services honoring the life of Charles will be held at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Family and friends will gather for visitation beginning at 11:00 in the morning, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 in the afternoon. Interment will take place at 2:30, a final resting for a life lived with steadfast devotion. Good Shepherd Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
