Clarice Evelyn Hester Madden

Mrs. Clarice Evelyn Hester Madden, age 93, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020. Mrs. Madden was born October 9, 1926 in Cherokee County, Alabama. She was a daughter of the late Claude Hester and Alma Adams Hester. Mrs. Madden had a love of art from a very young age and with no formal training and only a desire to learn along with persistent effort, she had become a talented artist. The beauty of God's creation was the central theme of all of her paintings. She was a meek lady that loved the Lord and longed to express that on canvas for all to see. She also showed this attitude in her interactions with her friends and family and all who knew her. She had a wonderful, and sometimes sassy, sense of humor and loved to make you laugh along with her. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was retired from Floyd Medical Center where she worked in the insurance office for 19 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Madden and her parents and siblings. After recent health decline, she had resided at Cave Spring Manor Senior Living in Cave Spring, GA, where she was a treasured and loved member of the family there. Her presence will be greatly missed by her fellow residents and caregivers.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel with Stephen Williams officiating, internment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. 30165.
