Dale Parker Obituary

In Loving Memory of Dale Allen Parker
September 6, 1946 – September 30, 2024

Dale Allen Parker, age 78, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. Born on September 6, 1946, in Floyd County, Georgia, Dale was the beloved son of the late Charlie Olin Parker and the late Rona Elizabeth Lanham Parker.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Ann Beam Parker, with whom he shared many years; his brothers, Gene Parker and Ralph Parker, Sr., his grandson Cody "Cody Boy" Parker, and his great-granddaughter, Raegan Elizabeth Bohannon.  Their absence was deeply felt by Dale.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Tina Huckaby and Tammy Gallman (Michael); and his grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart: Savannah Nails (Justin), Jordan “Nick Boy” Parker (Laci), Macon Huckaby (Brandi), Kayla “Pig” Bohannon (Brad), and Cooper Walker Gallman.  His pride and joy extended to his great-grandchildren: Lola Shinn, Axel Shinn, Roxy Shinn, Barett Huckaby, Xander Huckaby, and Quin Nails, and a very special great-granddaughter, Olivia Rae Bohannon, to whom he was able to meet right before his passing. Dale’s siblings, Stanley Parker (Donna), Myra Camp, and Gale Pelfrey, also mourn his passing but celebrate the incredible memories they shared with him.

Dale’s work ethic was unmatched and he passed down to his daughters and grandchildren. He dedicated many years to the textile industry, working at Galey & Lord Industries before retiring. Known for his sharp attention to detail, Dale was also a skilled car detailer, earning a reputation for his meticulous work. He had many special customers that became wonderful friends.

Beyond his career, Dale lived a full life. He had a passion for simple pleasures, from the thrill of playing bingo and buying lottery tickets to cheering on his beloved Atlanta Braves. His constant companion and faithful dog, Woody, brought him endless joy.

Dale’s faith was a central part of his life, rooted in his upbringing at East Rome Baptist Church. He carried these values with him, demonstrating kindness, loyalty, and dedication in all that he did.
