Daniel Michael Vicente, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. He was twelve years old. He was born in Rome on April 27, 2013, to Arnulfo Cristobal Vicente and Beatrice Vicente. 

In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by his sisters, Kaitlyn Martínez and Rhianna Martinez.

Some lives are not measured in years, but in the depth of love they awaken and the courage they call forth in everyone around them. Daniel’s life, though brief, was rich with both. He did not simply pass through this world, he marked it, leaving behind a brightness that will not soon dim.

Daniel was a boy of boundless spirit, a beautiful blend of courage and playfulness. He was loving, brave, silly, joyful, resilient, and almost always smiling. His laughter had a way of breaking through heavy moments, and his presence brought a quiet kind of comfort that made people feel at ease. He carried a light that felt bigger than his years, as though he instinctively knew that joy was something to be chosen, again and again.

He delighted in the simple, happy things that make a childhood sweet. Monster Jam thrilled him. A bag of popcorn and an episode of SpongeBob could make his whole day. He loved sweet tea, McDonald’s, and the small adventures found in a shopping trip to Five Below. He enjoyed scenic views and cherished every vacation, especially those to the beach, where the promise of water, sand, and a hotel pool made everything feel just right.

Yet, for all the places he went and all the things he enjoyed, Daniel’s favorite place in the world was home. There, on the couch with his family, he found a kind of peace and belonging that no destination could rival. It was in those quiet, ordinary moments that his love was most deeply felt.

Daniel’s life was a testimony not only of resilience, but of defiance in the face of limitation. When doctors once said he would not live past five years of age, Daniel answered not with words, but with life. He gave his family seven more years than expected, years that now stand as a sacred gift, filled with laughter, memories, and a love that time cannot take away.

Daniel endured more than most could bear. Diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of four, thyroid cancer at ten, and brain cancer at eleven, Daniel faced each battle with a quiet, unshakable strength. He did not allow illness to define him. Instead, he lived fully within each day he was given, meeting hardship with courage and answering it with joy.

At the tender age of twelve, Daniel passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and loved ones. The sorrow of his passing is deep and real, yet so is the beauty of the life he lived. His story is not only one of loss, but of extraordinary love, unwavering strength, and a spirit that refused to be dimmed.

Services to honor Daniel’s courageous life will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026. The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 2:00 PM. The visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel from 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Paul Porter. Interment will take place the following day, Friday, March 20, 2026 with a Graveside at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens at 10:00AM. Deacon Stuart Neslin will conduct the Committal Service.

Daniel will be interred at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers escorting him to his final resting place are Sergio Romano Santos, Enrique Moreno, III, Henry Davison, IV, Jocias Gonzales Vicente, Enrique Moreno, Adolfo Vicente Tzun, and Anthony Pizano.

Además de sus padres, Daniel deja en vida a sus hermanas, Kaitlyn Martínez y Rhianna Martínez.

Algunas vidas no se miden en años, sino en la profundidad del amor que despiertan y el valor que inspiran en todos los que las rodean. La vida de Daniel, aunque breve, estuvo llena de ambos. Él no simplemente pasó por este mundo, lo marcó, dejando una luz que no se apagará fácilmente.

Daniel era un niño de espíritu ilimitado, una hermosa combinación de valentía y alegría. Era amoroso, valiente, travieso, alegre, resiliente y casi siempre estaba sonriendo. Llevaba una luz que parecía más grande que su edad, como si supiera instintivamente que la alegría es algo que se elige, una y otra vez.

Disfrutaba de las cosas simples y felices que hacen dulce la infancia. Monster Jam lo emocionaba. Una bolsa de palomitas y un episodio de Bob Esponja podían alegrarle todo el día. Le encantaba el té dulce, McDonald’s y las pequeñas aventuras de un paseo de compras en Five Below. Disfrutaba de los paisajes y atesoraba cada vacación, especialmente las que eran en la playa, donde la promesa del agua, la arena y la piscina del hotel hacían que todo fuera perfecto.

Sin embargo, a pesar de todos los lugares que visitó y las cosas que disfrutó, el lugar favorito de Daniel en el mundo era su hogar. Allí, en el sofá junto a su familia, encontraba una paz y un sentido de pertenencia que ningún destino podía igualar. Era en esos momentos tranquilos y cotidianos donde su amor se sentía con mayor profundidad.

La vida de Daniel fue un testimonio no solo de resiliencia, sino de valentía frente a la adversidad. Cuando los médicos alguna vez dijeron que no viviría más allá de los cinco años, Daniel respondió no con palabras, sino con vida. Le regaló a su familia siete años más de lo esperado, años que hoy permanecen como un regalo sagrado, llenos de risas, recuerdos y un amor que el tiempo no podrá borrar.

Daniel soportó más de lo que muchos podrían soportar. Diagnosticado con leucemia a los cuatro años, cáncer de tiroides a los diez y cáncer cerebral a los once, enfrentó cada batalla con una fortaleza silenciosa e inquebrantable. No permitió que la enfermedad lo definiera. En cambio, vivió plenamente cada día que se le concedió, enfrentando las dificultades con valentía y respondiendo con alegría.

A la tierna edad de doce años, Daniel falleció en paz en su hogar, rodeado de su familia y seres queridos. El dolor por su partida es profundo y real, pero también lo es la belleza de la vida que vivió. Su historia no es solo de pérdida, sino de un amor extraordinario, una fortaleza inquebrantable y un espíritu que se negó a apagarse.

Los servicios para honrar la valiente vida de Daniel se llevarán a cabo el jueves 19 de marzo de 2026. La misa fúnebre se celebrará en la Iglesia Católica St. Mary’s a las 2:00 PM. La visitación se llevará a cabo en la capilla de Good Shepherd Funeral Home de 3:30 PM a 9:30 PM. La misa será celebrada por el Padre Paul Porter. El sepelio se realizará al día siguiente, viernes 20 de marzo de 2026, con un servicio junto a la tumba en Oaknoll Memorial Gardens a las 10:00 AM. El Diácono Stuart Neslin oficiará el servicio de despedida.

Daniel será sepultado en Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Los portadores que lo acompañarán a su lugar de descanso final son Sergio Romano Santos, Enrique Moreno III, Henry Davison IV, Jocias Gonzales Vicente, Enrique Moreno, Adolfo Vicente Tzun y Anthony Pizano.
