In Loving Memory of David Anthony Clemones
August 10, 2010 – September 9, 2025
There are lives that stretch long across many decades, and there are lives, like David Anthony Clemones’s, that blaze so brightly in so short a span that their light lingers, refusing to be dimmed. On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Rome, Georgia, David’s journey came suddenly to an end. He was just fifteen years old, blessed to Rodney Clemones, Angel Shumate Gaddis, and Bethany Wigley on August 10, 2010, and in his fifteen years, he gathered enough joy and laughter to fill a lifetime.
David was the kind of boy who met each day with a smile. Whether he was hitting baseballs, shooting basketball, or playing football with his friends, he seemed most himself when playing outside. He loved to play, but more than that, he loved to make others smile. Friends and family alike remember his laughter, quick and bubbling over, and the kindness that seemed stitched into his very being. He carried in him the rare gift of making others feel seen, cared for, and welcome, no matter who they were.
In November of 2024, David was baptized at WE THE CHURCH, a church that welcomed and loved him as much as he loved being there. He belonged fully to the people he loved: his parents, Rodney Clemones, Angel Gaddis, and Bethany Wigley; his brothers, Mason Clemones, Kaden Beavers, Carson Gaddis, and Tyler Tolbert and his wife Rebecca; his sisters, Morgan Green and her husband Mark, Malley Atkinson and her husband Cameron, and Tori Dozier and her husband Eriq. He was the playful uncle to nieces Greyson Dozier, Ivy Dozier, and Sophia Tolbert, and to nephews Jack Atkinson, Waylon Tolbert, and Tucker Tolbert.
David’s story was one of joy stitched into the ordinary: spending time with loved ones, skating with friends, playing backyard games, eating loco rice, sharing secrets with siblings, and small moments that shine brightest when remembered through tears. He would not want only sorrow to be spoken in his name, but laughter too, and gratitude for the simple gift of being alive.
Services to celebrate David’s brief, yet remarkable life; will be held September 16,2025 with the Visitation at 9:00 am until 12:00pm Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm
