In Loving Memory of David Allen Jellesma
September 7, 1961 – December 27, 2023
David Allen Jellesma, aged 62, of Summersville, Georgia, departed this life on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Born in Watertown, South Dakota, on September 7, 1961, he was the son of Jacob Theodore Jellesma and Elmira Kirsch. David's journey through life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, country, and faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Elmira, and his sister, Kathy Yerkan, David's legacy endures through his beloved family. He leaves behind his wife of many years, Denise Jellesma, his cherished daughters, Nicole M. Jellesma and Barbara R. Jellesma, and his adored grandchildren, Remi Weber and Bella Weber. His brothers, Jerry Jellesma, Mike Jellesma, and Donald Jellesma, “He also leaves behind his blood brother, Darryl Storey and his sisters, Margie Spevak and Donna Mack, continue to honor his memory.
A retired United States Air Force veteran, David dedicated over four decades to military technical support and the Airforce CDC. His commitment to service was more than a career; it was a testament to his deep love for his family and his country. David's life was a reflection of his profound belief in duty, honor, and the sacrifices necessary for freedom. His family often regarded him as the embodiment of strength and integrity, a man who, in their eyes, was second only to God in his virtues.
The void left by David's passing is immeasurable, and words fall short of capturing the depth of loss felt by those who knew him. Yet, in their grief, his family finds solace in the belief that David's earthly mission is complete, and he now resides in the serenity of eternity.
David's life was a beacon of selflessness and devotion. As we remember him, let us celebrate the principles he lived by and the love he shared with all who were fortunate to cross his path. His memory will forever be a guiding light in the hearts of those he touched.
The Jellesma family has entrusted Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home with the arrangements.
