David Lee Money Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Lee Money, Sr., a cherished and vibrant soul, who left us on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the age of 66. Born on August 7, 1957, in Rome, Georgia, to Joseph “JL” Lamar Money and Patty Ruth Wade Money, David's life was a journey of joy, adventure, and astounding love for his family and nature.

David is predeceased by his parents, J. L. and Ruth R. Money; his brothers, Paul Raiden Loveless and Reverend Norman Money; and his sister, Esther Ruth Poole. His spirit lives on through his partner, Teresa J. Osborne; his sons, David L. (Erica) Money, Jr., and Patrick Money; his daughter, Nesbit Isham; his grandchildren, Levi Money, Ace Money, Will Reiner, and Jordan Galmon; and his sister, Sue Cohaley.

Known for his infectious laughter and the ability to light up any room, David was the life of the party. His passions were as vast as his heart, from belting out tunes at karaoke nights to cheering on Dale Jr. at NASCAR races. An ardent University of Georgia Football fan, David's spirit was synonymous with the tenacity of the Bulldogs’ team spirit. However, above all, he found solace in the embrace of nature, whether it was fishing on serene lakes, camping under the stars, or just soaking in the tranquility of water.

Professionally, David dedicated thirty years to life on the road as a truck driver, a testament to his love for travel and adventure. In pursuit of being closer to home, he transitioned to a role that reflected his commitment to his community, serving as a Refuse Collection Specialist in waste management for the city of Rome.

David’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and the great outdoors. As we bid farewell, his closest loved ones invite family and friends to a visitation and funeral service that will celebrate his remarkable journey. The visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM, followed by the funeral service at 4:30 PM. Both the visitation and the funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165. Pastor Ricky Studdard will lead us in honoring David's memory. He will be laid to rest at Eastview Cemetery.

Dale Duffey, Zane Cannon, Andrew Jones, Anthony Jones, David Jones, and Chad Cline serve as pallbearers. His grandsons Levi, Jordan, Ace, and Will honor him as honorary pallbearers.

Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements, ensuring that David's final journey is as full of love and dignity as the life he led.

In David's memory, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart generously loved, and a spirit eternally free. May his legacy continue to inspire us all.
