In Loving Memory of Debra Baxter Dillard
April 8, 1958 – September 26, 2025
Debra Baxter Dillard, of Cave Spring, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, September 26, 2025. She was sixty-seven years old. Born in Rome, Georgia, on April 8, 1958, to the late Wallace James Canada and Mildred Louise Canada She was preceded in death by parents, a brother; Robert Canada, and a daughter-in-law. Melissa Henderson , she came into this world with sunlight on her face, and she left it carrying that same light.
Debra’s life was stitched together by love that ran deep and wide. She is survived by her sons, Anthony Shane Baxter, Gary Neil(Brittany) Baxter, and Michael Robert Baxter, (Melissa Henderson). She is also remembered by her brother, Michael W. Canada (Illona), and her sister, Joyce Jones (Jerome). Her parents and her brother, Robert James Canada, have already gone before her, and now await her on the other shore.
Those who knew Debra will tell you she was a woman who loved without hesitation. She loved her family, strong as an oak, and her friends, bright as morning laughter. She loved her fur babies, Holland and Molly, who answered her voice with joy. She loved Jesus with a boldness that was clear in her walk and her talk. Fear was a myth to her, and it never had any claim on her. She met the world head-on, smiling, unshaken, carrying courage in her bones.
Her life will be honored on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, and the memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM.
Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to walk this last mile with the family.
