Debra Brown Obituary

In Memory of

Debra Prince Brown

October 22, 1962 - December 1, 2024

Born beneath the gentle light of an October sun in Orlando, Florida, on the 22nd day of 1962, Debra Prince Brown began a life that would radiate warmth and compassion to all who knew her. On December 1, 2024, at the age of 62, she departed this earthly realm, leaving behind a legacy as enduring as the love she freely gave.

Debra’s life was a testament to quiet strength and boundless generosity. She approached her days with an open heart and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends. In her later years, she embraced the role she treasured most, “Granny”, a title she wore with pride and joy. Her retirement was not a season of rest but one of renewed purpose, as she poured her love into her grandchildren, becoming their constant guide and greatest cheerleader.

Debra’s faith was a quiet and steady compass, rooted in her belief in Christianity. It was this faith that illuminated her path and gave her strength through life’s trials. Her actions spoke louder than words, as she embodied the virtues of kindness, patience, and grace.

Debra’s journey through life was adorned with relationships that she cultivated with care and devotion. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Travis Sopish (Courtney Hughes) and Daniel Brown. Her grandchildren, Trenton Sopish, Gracie Sopish, Gavin Hooks, and Carson Hooks carry forward the love and wisdom she imparted. Her siblings, Michael Prince, Wayne Prince, and Julia Herndon, stand as pillars of the family she cherished.

She joins in eternal rest those who preceded her: her parents, James and Dorothy Prince; her son, Donald Brown Jr.; and her sister, Donna Marable. Though separated by the veil of time, their memories remained alive in her heart until her final breath.

A visitation to honor Debra’s remarkable life will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home on Thursday, December 5, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Dan Hale, will follow at 1:00 PM. These moments will provide an opportunity for her loved ones to reflect on her enduring spirit and the joy she brought to their lives.

As we bid farewell to Debra, let us not dwell on the sorrow of her passing but celebrate the beauty of her life. Her love was a light that warmed the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will remain an eternal beacon of kindness, humility, and strength. Though her physical presence has departed, the essence of her spirit will live on in the stories we share and the lives she touched.

Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
