Debra Johnson Rochester passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in Centre, Alabama. She was born on October 2, 1958, in Rome, Georgia, to Grifford and Lillie Johnson.
Debra’s life was marked by profound love and enduring faith. She is now reunited with her parents and three beloved brothers, Harvel, Joe, and Martin Johnson, in the presence of the Lord.
Debra leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family. She is survived by her loving husband, George “Danny” Rochester, whose unwavering support was a source of strength throughout their journey. Deborah's nurturing spirit extended to her children: her sons, Steve A McMeekin Jr. (Nina) and Bulmaro Reyes and her daughter, Tiffany N. Reyes. Her grandchildren, Tyleigha Reyes, Noah McMeekin, AnaKarina Reyes, Eric Reyes, Jamie Guzman, Owen Reyes, and Leticia Reyes, along with eight great-grandchildren, were the treasures of her heart and several nieces and nephews.
In her life, Debra found joy in the company of her surviving brother, Gary Ray Johnson, and her sisters, Jean Atkins and Linda Newberry. Family was not just a word for Debra; it was a profound gift from God.
Debra's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where her relationship with the Lord deepened over the years. Her unwavering belief in God's grace and love was a guiding light for those who knew her.
Beyond her spiritual journey, Debra had a remarkable talent for porcelain painting, creating beautiful works of art that will be cherished by her loved ones. Her affection for dogs was evident to all who knew her, and she found solace and companionship in these faithful animals.
The arrangements to celebrate Debra's life are entrusted to Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home. As we remember and honor her, let us take solace in the knowledge that she now rests in eternal peace, her spirit forever in the embrace of her Heavenly Father.
The family will receive friends at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 12:00PM EST until service hour at 2:00PM EST with Pastor Earl Partain officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery located at 4445 County Rd 113, Centre, AL 35960.
