Donna Chiofalo Obituary

In Loving Memory of Donna Marie Chiofalo

May 2, 1965 – August 23, 2024

Donna Marie Chiofalo, 59, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024. Born on May 2, 1965, in the vibrant city of New York, New York, she was the cherished daughter of the late Benjamin Michael Chiofalo and the late RoseMarie Tricarico Chiofalo.

Donna was a woman of great warmth, compassion, and a deep sense of family. She was raised in a close-knit community where she was surrounded by not only her three beloved siblings but also a multitude of cousins who shared in the joys and challenges of life. Her upbringing in such a familial environment laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to her loved ones. Donna was deeply family-oriented, always placing the well-being and happiness of her family above all else.

Her dedication to education was a testament to her belief in its transformative power. Donna pursued her passion for learning and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, a field that fascinated her throughout her life. Her love for history was not just an academic interest; it was a way for her to connect with the stories and experiences of those who came before her. Donna’s intellectual curiosity and generosity of spirit made her a natural teacher. She was always eager to share her knowledge with others, whether it was through formal education or simply through the everyday moments of life. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome, respected, and valued, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Donna's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, Joseph Hollingsworth and Renee Russell, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her devoted siblings, Carmen Melillo and Annette Melillo, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their beloved sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Anthony Chiofalo and Nicholas Chiofalo, whom she deeply missed.

In accordance with Donna’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. She will be cremated, and her ashes will be cared for by those who loved her most. Though we mourn the loss of Donna, we also celebrate the love, wisdom, and joy she brought into our lives.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home, ensuring that Donna's final wishes are honored with the utmost care and respect.
