In Loving Memory of
Donna Sue Edwards Pulliam
November 1, 1939 – September 23, 2024
It is with deep sorrow yet hearts full of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Donna Sue Edwards Pulliam, age 84, of Rome, Georgia. Donna peacefully departed this life on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was born on November 1, 1939, in the charming town of Oxford, Mississippi.
Donna's life was a testament to resilience, hard work, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Louise Caldwell, as well as Randall and Maxine Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Floyd, and her second husband, Thomas Pulliam. Donna’s sons, Ralph David Bridges and Kenneth Levi Bridges, her beloved grandson, Christopher Michael Foster, her brother, Randy Edwards, and her sister, Wilma Lynn Edwards, also welcomed her into eternal rest.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: James Laurence Bridges (Jan), Phillip Keith Bridges (Elizabeth), and Sherri Mobley Smith. Donna was immensely proud of her children, whose lives she touched with endless love and steadfast support. Her legacy continues in her grandchildren—Cody Bridges, Brandi Bridges, Levi Bridges, and Shelby Bridges—who were the light of her life and will forever hold dear the lessons and love their grandmother bestowed upon them. And also, numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Donna also leaves behind her devoted brothers, Ronnie Edwards and Jeff Edwards, and her dear sisters, Tina Marie Sharp (Jr.), Sandra Jean Bridges (Al), and Sallie Margert Floyd. Her family was the heart of her world, and her love for them knew no bounds.
Donna was a woman of many talents and passions. She worked as a dedicated secretary at Syntec Industries in Rome, Georgia, where her diligence and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her strong work ethic was matched only by her generous spirit, which she poured into her church, Garden Lakes Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. Whether it was helping with a church event, lending a hand to those in need, or simply offering a kind word, Donna was there—her faith was a constant beacon in her life and in the lives of those she touched.
Beyond her dedication to work and faith, Donna had a love for the simple joys of life. She found relaxation and joy in crocheting, crafting beautiful creations that will be cherished by her family for generations to come. She also enjoyed shopping, often spending time finding just the right item that brought a smile to her face and those she loved.
Donna’s life will be honored in a celebration of her legacy on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Garden Lakes Baptist Church, located at 2200 Redmond Circle, Rome, GA 30165. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM, with a service celebrating Donna’s life to follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Smith Lucas. Donna will be laid to rest at the Rome Midway Primitive Cemetery, located at 18 Depot St, Armuchee, GA 30105, where she will find eternal peace alongside her loved ones.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Pat Coffey, Smith Lucas, Alan Deese, Mark Floyd, Timothy Bridges, and John Summenour.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their support during this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home, whose thoughtful care has helped guide the family through this difficult time.
In Donna's memory, let us all find inspiration in her faith, her love for her family, and the joy she found in the everyday moments. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
