With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Edna Fay Gouger Langston, aged 83, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in Centre, Alabama. Born on January 3, 1940, to Marlon and Jessie Barron Gouger, Edna's life was a beautifully arrayed assortment of love, joy, and unforgettable moments.
In addition to her parents, Marlon and Jessie Gouger, Edna was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Vicki Anthony and Glenda Langston; her brothers, J. W., Walter, and Roy Gouger; and her sisters, Betty Pike, Ruby Cleveland, and Odis Chamblee. Her memory endures through her treasured grandchildren: her grandson, Chad Anthony, and granddaughters, Hanna Hutchens and Magan Minyard.
Ms. Edna was a beacon of light and joy in the lives of all who knew her. She radiated warmth and love, touching the hearts of her family and everyone she encountered. Her passion for dancing was infectious, and her love for playing cards brought countless hours of laughter and fun. Edna's zest for life was unparalleled. She was always seeking to create memorable moments filled with joy and laughter.
Above all, Edna's greatest love was her family. She reveled in the time spent with her loved ones, treasuring each moment as a precious gift. Her presence was a source of comfort and happiness, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends.
The family invites those who knew and loved Ms. Edna to join us in celebrating her remarkable life and honoring her legacy and the joy she brought into our lives.
In honor of Edna’s life the family will have a Graveside Service at 2:00PM on Tuesday on December 26, 2023 at Cherokee Memory Gardens. Pastor Derrick Roberts will be officiating.
Edna Faye Gouger Langston's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished for generations to come.
