Elizabeth Jones Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Rush Jones, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the age of ninety-three. She was born on December 5, 1932, in Adairsville, Georgia, to Howard William Rush and Ethel Willerson, entering the world in a season of humility and hope, and living her days with quiet strength and enduring faith.

Elizabeth’s life was one marked by devotion, constancy, and service. Rooted deeply in her faith, she was a devoted member of Rush Chapel Methodist Church and had previously worshiped with Corinth Baptist Church. Her spiritual life was not confined to walls alone, but extended into her daily walk, reflected in her proud support of Trinity Broadcasting Network and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Faith, for Elizabeth, was not merely spoken, but practiced with reverence and resolve.

She dedicated many years of her working life to the people of Georgia, serving faithfully with the Georgia Department of Labor, where she held the position of Labor Senior Supervisor. In this role, she exemplified diligence, integrity, and a quiet leadership that earned respect and trust. Her labor was not only a profession, but a testament to her sense of duty and care for the welfare of others.

Elizabeth is predeceased by her beloved husband, Calvin Thomas Jones; her parents, Howard William Rush and Ethel Willerson; her son, Micheal Thomas Jones; her daughter, Melissa Ann Jones; and her sister, Geneva Rush King. Though loss visited her household more than once, she bore grief with grace, anchoring herself in faith and enduring love.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Howard Jones, and her cherished grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Brager, Mark Christopher Jones, and Brandon Howard Jones, each a living continuation of her legacy. In them remain the quiet lessons of perseverance, devotion, and steadfast love that shaped her life.

Visitation will be held Friday January 2, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Rush Chapel. Interment will follow at Rush Chapel Cemetery. Elizabeth, final resting place will be at Rush Chapel Cemetery.
