Elizabeth Otts Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth A Otts, 95, of Rome, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 28th, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Reverend Charles and Mamie Talley. 


Elizabeth was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ray Otts; her cherished sons, Jack C. Floyd, and Charlie Durran Floyd (Vickie); and her dear siblings, Christine Millian (Clyde), Delsie Debo, Coy Talley (Mildred), Ray Talley (Catherine), and Doyle Talley (Beulah Mae)


She is survived by her loving Daughter-in-Law Sallie Floyd, grandchildren, Mark Floyd (Susan), Daniel Floyd (ex-wife Misha), Angie Floyd Hager, and Christopher Floyd. Her legacy also lives on through her many Great Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close.


Elizabeth's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. A lifelong member of Friendship Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia, where she was deeply involved in all aspects of ministry. She passionately served in the Women’s Missionary Union, fought Sunday School and graced the Choir with her beautiful voice. Her dedication to her faith was evident in her daily life, as she found joy in sharing the message of Christ with everyone she met.


Her family was her pride and joy, and many of them followed her footsteps into ministry and music, which was an affirmation of the profound influence she had on their lives. Elizabeth's love for Jesus was reflected in her selfless service and the warmth she extended to her church community and beyond.


In addition to her ministry, Elizabeth worked diligently at National Life and Belks, where she was known for her hard work, integrity, and kindness.


A service to honor Elizabeth’s life and legacy will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Friendship Baptist Church, 2293 Calhoun Rd NE, Rome, GA 30161 Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 AM. Reverend Mark Floyd and Reverend Justin Silvers will officiate. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at East View Cemetery, 725 Kingston Ave NE, Rome, GA 30161 


Elizabeth's family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating a life lived in faithful service to God and in love for her family. Her memory will forever be a blessing to those who were privileged to know her.
