Emma Baugh Obituary

Mrs. Emma Mae Baugh, age 92, of Rome, Georgia, entered into eternal rest peacefully on May 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her most. A woman of grace, faith, and quiet strength, Emma Mae lived a life rooted in compassion and devotion to her family, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her.

Born in Floyd County, Georgia, on April 14, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Garlin Dyer and James Homer Dyer. Emma Mae carried herself with a gentle spirit and a warm presence that made others feel instantly at ease.

For many years, Emma Mae faithfully worked for JC Penney, where she became known for her dedication, sincerity, and friendly smile. She valued hard work, treasured friendships, and found joy in simple moments shared with others. Her faith was also a guiding light throughout her life, and she was a devoted member of Hillside Fellowship, where she found peace, encouragement, and spiritual strength.

To her family, Emma Mae was a steady source of love and comfort. She possessed a quiet wisdom, a nurturing heart, and a gentle way of making every person feel special.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Baugh; her grandson, Jeremy Whiteside; her parents, Pauline and Homer Dyer; her sister, Willie Belle Freeman; and her brother, J.H. Dyer.

Those left to treasure her memory include her daughter, Donna Ingram; her son, David Whiteside (Gaynell); her grandchildren, Eric Whiteside, Patrick Ingram (Madison), Shawn Ingram, and Chasity Martinez; her sister, Peggy Rainey; along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were blessed by her love and presence.

A visitation for Mrs. Baugh will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Scott McCreless and Pastor Steve Arrington officiating. Interment will be held at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, June 02, 2026 at 1:00PM.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Whiteside, Elliot Whiteside, Evan Whiteside, Patrick Ingram, Jordan Flowers and Chris Rainey.

Though her gentle voice has fallen silent, the love Emma Mae gave so freely will continue to echo through the lives of those she leaves behind. Her memory will remain a source of comfort, and her beautiful spirit will never be forgotten.
