Emma Carol Earwood Baker, age 78, of Rome, Georgia, passed away peacefully, on May 7th, 2026. Carol was born January 13th, 1948, to the late Emmett R. Earwood and Mildred Beatrice Earwood. Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched all who knew her.
She lived a life marked by faith, compassion, and dedication to her family. Carol found joy in caring for those she loved, sharing laughter with her family, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. She enjoyed jewelry-making, painting and drawing, writing poems, and singing for the Lord. Her warm smile, encouraging words, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those blessed to know her.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett R. Earwood and Mildred Beatrice Earwood, her daughter, Renae Michelle Bailey, and her sister, Wilma Ann Earwood Long.
She is survived by her daughters, Christina Watters (Mark), Melanie Carroll (Ken), and Robin Brickey (Edward); her grandkids, Josh Carroll (Brooke), Justin Carroll (Briana), Dillon Ingram, Cody Ingram, Donovan Watters, Katie Carroll, Kenzie Estes (Drew), Angel Brickey, Faith Brickey (Joshua), and Hope Brickey; her great-grandkids, Samuel Carroll, Ethan Whetham, and Elias Barnett; her brother Leon Earwood (Joyce), and her special friend, Jane Copeland.
On Monday, May 11th, 2026, a celebration of life will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, Rome, Georgia, with visitation at 12:30pm and funeral service at 1:30pm, with a graveside service to follow immediately after at Oaknoll Memorial Garden with Pastors Justin Carroll and Dr. Earl Fowlkes officiating.
Pallbearers include Josh Carroll, Justin Carroll, Drew Estes, Donovan Watters, Mark Watters, and Ken Carroll.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her love and faith will continue to shine through the generations to come.
