In Loving Memory of
Ernest Irvin Greenleaf
January 8, 1956 – June 26, 2025
On June 26, 2025, Ernest Irvin Greenleaf, of Kingston, Georgia, departed this realm at the age of sixty-nine.
Ernest was born on a winter’s day, January 8, 1956, in Fort Payne, Alabama, a land of misted mountains and red clay fields. He was the son of Aileen Newton and O.W. Hatchet, both of whom went before him into the shadowed lands beyond the veil.
He was preceded in death by his kindred: his brothers Curly Greenleaf, Danny Paul Greenleaf, and Elton Greenleaf, and his sister, Janette Fuller. Now they are all gathered again in the lands beyond time, where no tears need fall.
Left to carry on his name and memory are his sons; Chris, and Shane Greenleaf, each bearing within them the legacy of his blood. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Amanda Greenleaf; his brothers, Billy Joe Greenleaf and Roger Greenleaf, and his sister, Denise Miller’ all threads woven into the same long tapestry of kinship and grace.
Though the fire upon his hearth has gone out, and his voice will no longer be heard beneath the stars.
The care of his passing has been entrusted to Good Shepherd Funeral Home, whose service bears the gentle weight of farewell.
