In Loving Memory of Eva Mae Vasser,
November 4, 1948 – September 5, 2023
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Eva Mae Vasser on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Born on November 4, 1948, she was a true force of nature, a red-headed firecracker whose vivacity and zest for life were contagious.
She is preceded in death by her dear husband, Charles Vasser; her parents MJ and Helen Bannister; her son Charles Vasser Jr., her brothers, Dewayne Bannister, Darrell Bannister, Guy Bannister; and her sister, Katie Lecroy.
Eva leaves behind her sons, Jimmy Vasser, Kenneth Vasser, and Jeff Vasser; her daughter, Angela Shadwick; her grandchildren, Jason Vasser, Jeff Vasser, Jr., James Frost, Charlie Frost, Brittany Nein, Autumn Nails, Robbie Smith, Jenny Vasser, and Jessica Espinoza; her brothers, John Bannister, and Jody Bannister; and her sister Sheila Mason.
A dedicated Baptist, Eva's faith was evident not just in her worship but in her day-to-day life. Her belief in God and dedication to the Baptist community shone through in all she did.
For those fortunate enough to have tasted Eva's culinary delights, memories of warm kitchens filled with the tantalizing aromas of freshly baked pastries and hearty meals will forever linger. Her love for baking and cooking was only rivaled by her passion for gardening and canning. Eva’s garden was a vibrant patchwork of colors and flavors, evidence of her nurturing touch and green thumb.
But it wasn't just plants that Eva nurtured. With her infectious humor and unparalleled ability to light up any room, she truly was the life of the party. Many a gathering was made memorable with Eva's love for dance, as she swayed, twirled, and jived with an enthusiasm that drew everyone in.
While the outdoors beckoned Eva in her younger days with adventures aplenty, in later years, she took pleasure in the thrill of gambling.
Above all else, Eva's love for family was paramount. The bonds she cultivated were strong and unyielding, her home a hub of love, laughter, and the endless anecdotes of her vibrant life.
Rest in jubilant peace Eva Vasser. Your spirit will dance on in our hearts forever.
