Frances Elaine Godfrey, 63, of Aragon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024. Born on September 28, 1960, in Brunswick, Georgia, to the late Elbert and Shirley Godfrey, Frances's journey was one marked by love, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to her family.
Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Timothy Godfrey, and her sister Jenny Lott, Frances leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her loving children: Greg Agan, Jr. (Shanna), Jesse Lee Agan (Renee), and Amanda Fay Cochran (Kip). Her life was further enriched by her beloved grandchildren: Bradley Agan, Hannah Agan, Katie Stout, Miley Agan, Trent Lee Agan, Trace Austin Agan, Emma Grace Agan, and Octavia Chesser, and her numerous great-grandchildren, who were the jewels in her crown of life. Her brothers, Anthony Godfrey and Chris Godfrey, and her sister, Teresa Reynolds, also continue to carry her spirit in their hearts.
Frances's life was a testament to the love she held for her family. Her children were her pride, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. A lover of nature's tranquility, she had a unique talent for nurturing her garden into a kaleidoscope of colors, reflecting the vibrancy of her own spirit. Her travels brought her joy and the opportunity to meet new people, yet she remained grounded in life’s simple pleasures. Frances was an exceptional cook, expressing her love through the exquisite meals she prepared for her family. Her kindness, generosity, and love were her most enduring gifts to those who knew her.
A people person through and through, Frances never met a stranger. Her kind and generous soul and her love for her family left a permanent mark on everyone she encountered.
The knowledge that Frances' legacy of love and kindness will live on in those who knew her gives us comfort as we say our final goodbyes. Frances's departure leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit will forever be a guiding light in the lives of her loved ones. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered, always.
