In Loving Memory of
Franklin Lee Tankersley
November 13, 1966 – February 26, 2026
Franklin Lee Tankersley passed away on February 26, 2026. Born on November 13, 1966, Franklin lived life with a spirit that was unmistakably his own, memorable, vibrant, and full of personality.
Franklin’s greatest pride and joy were his family. He is survived by his daughters, Lyric Tankersley and Skyler Tankersley, who were the light of his life and the rhythm behind so many of his happiest days. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Brody Choat, Jacey Choat, and Nora Smith, whose laughter and bright energy filled him with pride and joy.
He is also survived by his mother, Frances Bohannon, whose love and guidance helped shape the man he became, and by his brother, Glen McDaniel, who remained part of the close-knit family circle throughout Franklin’s life.
Franklin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Buchanan, Georgia, where his faith provided him with strength, community, and a place of belonging.
Franklin had a deep love for music, movies, and the moments that made life fun. Soft rock and classic rock were always close to his heart, and he loved picking up his guitar to play and sing, letting the music carry the moment. Whether it was enjoying a great movie, turning up a favorite song, or celebrating his favorite time of year, Halloween, Franklin embraced the things that made life exciting and memorable.
Those who knew Franklin will remember his presence. He had a way of standing out, the kind of person who could easily become the coolest guy in the room, bringing energy, stories, music, and laughter wherever he went. He valued family, friendship, and living life in a way that people would remember.
Services to honor Franklin’s life will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. Family will share stories and memories of a life that will be cherished by everyone that crossed Franklin’s path.
Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
