In Loving Memory of Gary Allen Givens
August 28, 1960 - March 27, 2026
In the waning days of March, on Friday, March 27, 2026, Gary Allen Givens of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, passed from this earthly realm, having reached the age of sixty-five years. He was born on August 28, 1960, in Rome, Georgia, to the late Henry J. Givens and Alva Nell May Givens, and from them inherited a steadfast spirit and a quiet strength that would mark the course of his days.
Gary now journeys beyond the circles of this world, reunited with those who went before him: his beloved wife, Mary Robertson Givens; his sister, Martha Givens Hindman; and his nephew, Jeremy Givens. Though their absence was long felt, their reunion is now made whole.
To carry his memory forward, Gary leaves behind his brother, Jerry Givens; his brothers-in-law, Little John Robertson and Henry Ridley; and his nieces, Jennifer Givens Watts and Amy Hindman, who shall remember him as a man of constancy and familiar warmth.
Gary walked in the faith of the Baptist tradition, holding fast to simple truths and enduring beliefs. He found joy in the thunder and speed of racing cars, and with loyal heart, he stood as a devoted supporter of the University of Alabama football team. In quieter hours, he sought the stillness of the waters, where fishing offered both peace and reflection.
For forty-five years, Gary labored faithfully with Mohawk Industries, a testament to his diligence and unwavering commitment. Such constancy is seldom seen and speaks of a life lived with purpose and resolve.
A gathering to honor Gary’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the chapel of Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Terry Hawkins officiating. Those who will bear him to his place of rest at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens are Jackie Givens, Allen Stephens, Henry Ridley, Cody Freeman, Stacey Arthur, and Joshua Robertson.
Though Gary Allen Givens has gone on into eternity, he will forever be remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
