Gene Boatfield Obituary
Mr. Gene Boatfield, age 78, of Rome owner of Boatfield Auto Mart passed away Sunday January 25, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Boatfield was born May 9, 1936, in Jasper, Ga. A son of the late, Burl Boatfield, and Dorothy Young Boatfield. Mr. Boatfield was owner of Boatfield Wrecker Service and Boatfield's Auto Mart. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Mr. Boatfield was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy and Clarence Boatfield, sisters, Ruby Vann, and Lousie Harrell.
Survivors include, daughters, Betty (Danny) Foster, Armuchee; Amanda Dougherty, Rome; sons, Keyon (cheri) Boatfield, Norcross; Gene Lee (Connie) Boatfield, Rome; step son, Willlie Johnson, Rome; sister, Dorothy Boatfield, SC; grandchildren, Josh Foster, Danny Foster, Brianna Dougherty, Jasxon Dougherty, Tiffany Boatfield, and Kevin Boatfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday January 29, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Allen Fuller, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, with Shanklin-Attaway Post Honor Guard, of the America Legion will conduct full military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday January 28, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
