George Anderson Sims

Mr. George Anderson Sims, Jr., age 95 of Rome, GA. passed away on October 1st, 2022.

Mr. Sims was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Rome, GA, proudly served in the Navy during WW2 and retired from General Electric. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jessie Lee Fair Sims, his parents George Sims and Cora Sims, his brothers, Paul Sims and Cecil Sims and sisters Louise Barker and Margaret Bishop.

Survivors include his daughters, Anita Carnes and Terri Korson of Rome, GA. His grandchildren Chris Carnes, Matt Carnes, Jeremy Hillard (Kelsey), Kylie Hilliard, his brothers Herbert Sims of Tyler, TX and Alton (Kay) Sims of Tucker, GA. his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Carnes, Lucas Carnes, Emmaline, Arabella & Lorelei Carnes and Case & Mary Kathryn Hilliard.

The family will have a graveside service at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens located at 2749 Shorter Ave. NW Rome, GA 30165. Rev. Chip Smith officiating. Military Honors by Shanklin-Attaway American Legion Post 5.

Pallbearers include; Chris Carnes, Matt Carnes and Jeremy Hilliard.
