Glenda Hall Obituary

In Loving Memory of Glenda Carolyn Bishop Hall
March 2, 1948 – August 28, 2025

Glenda Carolyn Bishop Hall, seventy-seven, of Rome, Georgia, passed from this life on Thursday, August 28, 2025. She was born on March 2, 1948, in Menlo, Georgia, a small town nestled among hills and hollows, where her childhood was shaped by the cadence of country living and the steadfast bonds of family.

Glenda’s life was one of devotion to her God, her church, and her family, who were the heart of all she did.

She is survived by her husband, R. J. Hall, the steady companion who shared her days; her sons, Robert J. Hall and Billy Todd Hall; her daughters, Susan Diane Hall and Tina Marie Vasser; and a wide and lively circle of grandchildren who brought her joy and pride: Timothy Hall, Dennis Hall, Shawn Hall, Robert Tucker, Mandy Tucker, Josh Tucker, Whittney Beechum, Katelyn Hall, Dawson Hall, Austin Hall, Zach Hall, Justin Hall, Teresa Wells, Abigail Wells, and David Boatner. Her family tree stretched deep into the next generation, each branch a testament to her love and care.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Ellen Johnson, whose absence she carried tenderly in her heart; her brother, Bill Bishop; and her sisters, Vivian and Christina.

Glenda was, by calling and by choice, a homemaker. It was a title she bore with dignity, for she knew that raising children, nourishing faith, and keeping a home was a holy occupation. She was a faithful member of Little Flock, where her voice, lifted in song, often joined the congregation in hymns of praise. She also served joyfully at West Side Family Worship, where her hands found work in the church kitchen, her servant leadership mingled with fellowship, and her heart swelled with the simple gladness of serving others.

She loved singing, praising the Lord, and sharing her warmth with those around her. She found delight in playing Rook, a card game that brought neighbors and family together around the table. In every gathering, Glenda’s spirit seemed to rise with a radiant light, for she had a heart for Jesus that shaped every word and every deed.

To her children, she was a steady hand and a tender heart. To her grandchildren, she was both anchor and encourager. To her church family and friends, she was a living witness of faith. Her devotion to Christ was not confined to Sunday mornings but was woven into the fabric of her everyday life through kindness, service, and love unmeasured.

A visitation to honor Glenda’s life will take place Saturday, August 30 from 6:00PM till 8:00PM and a Funeral Service the next day, Sunday, August 31st at 10:00AM following interment at Lindale Cemetery, with Timmy Vaughan and Tom Dominy speaking words of comfort. She will be carried tenderly to her final place by her grandsons Robert, Josh, Dennis, Justin, Timothy, and Austin.

Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
