Glenda Jones Obituary

Ms. Glenda Sue Bobbitt Jones Bollen, 79, of Rome, Georgia, who passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023. She was born in Ball Play, Alabama, to the late Robert Bobbitt and Alice Mae Elizabeth (Storey) Bobbitt Stevens on May 12, 1945. Glenda's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories.

Glenda, a beacon of light and love, is now reunited in eternity with her beloved parents, Robert and Alice Mae Bobbitt; her cherished husband, Tommy Juds Bollen; and her dear brother, Cecil Bobbitt. To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her sons, Tommy Bollen, Tracy Bollen, and Todd Bollen; her daughter, Michelle Bollen; her grandchildren, Kaci Tolbert, Amanda Bollen, Megan Hight, Morgan Bollen, Tommy “TJ” Bollen, Jr., Makaylee Darden, Kayla Grace Bollen, Sarah Abigail Bollen; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Ms. Glenda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; her family meant everything to her. She simply thrived off of the joy and happiness of her family. Keeping her family’s well-being and comfort at the forefront of her thoughts, and reflecting the depth of her selfless love, she used her final breath to ask, “Are you okay? Will you be, okay?”

Glenda had a firecracker personality and a winning smile that made her unforgettable. Her unique but authentic personality, dazzling smile, and penchant for red lipstick paved the way for a successful modeling career, where she shone as brightly as the stars in the sky. Though she loved her chosen profession, Glenda looked forward to retirement because it meant more time with her beloved family.

Glenda's life was a living embodiment of love and joy. She was the heart of her family, always placing their well-being above all else. She was the sunshine in every room, her presence a source of happiness and warmth.

An avid lover of the great outdoors, Glenda found solace in the embrace of nature. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she nurtured life and beauty. Glenda's passion for travel took her to many corners of the world, with the beach, a place of sunshine and sunsets, holding a special place in her heart.

Glenda's generosity knew no bounds. She was a woman of strong convictions, always ready to offer a kind word or a piece of wisdom. Her honesty was not just a trait but a gift she generously shared, empowering and uplifting those around her.

In her passing, the world has lost a beautiful, bold, and radiant soul. Glenda's absence leaves an irreplaceable void, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Glenda's journey on earth may have concluded, but her light will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
