In Loving Memory of Glenn Raymond Ross
February 3, 1933 – March 13, 2025
Glenn Raymond Ross went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 13th. Glenn was born on February 3rd, 1933, to Leslie Mills Ross and Lorene Carter Ross. He had one sibling, Lena Fae.
Glenn grew up on his father's farm in Missouri. He joined the United States Navy in 1951 and proudly served for over 25 years. Glenn married his wife Lavinia Mae Landreth on August 31st, 1957, and they were happily married for 60 years until her death on January 6th, 2018.
Glenn and Lou were always smiling and always there to help anyone. Glenn was a family man. He loved his family, his God, and his country. He was a member and Deacon at Taylorsville Baptist Church for many years. His family always got a kick out of his favorite saying, can’t complain at all, Just taking life easy.
Glenn is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Lavinia Mae Landreth Ross also lovingly known as LouBabe, his parents Leslie Mills Ross and Ercella Lorene Carter Ross, His sister Lena Fae Young and her husband Bill. Brothers and sisters-in-laws Jerry and Carolyn Landreth, Ruby and Ray Lang, a daughter-in-law Christy Barron Ross and his best buddy Bowser. He is survived by sons Les (Leann), Bruce (Gail), Kenny (Kellie) and Brian (Teresa). Grandchildren Chad, Jason and Matt Sudberry (Lauren), Marcus Rogers(Jesse), Daniel Clark, Beau Ross(Kayla), Tyler Ross, Erica Danford, Amber and Brooke Ross, Kurt (Megan), Jakob (Carrisa), and Kirsten Brucker, Ashley Prichard (Tom), and Hayley Dillow. Great grandchildren Matthew Sudberry, Gavin, Sebastian, and Arlo Rogers, Taylynn Glenn, and Brayden Stork, and his best little buddy Rambo.
His viewing will be Monday night, March 24th from 7:00 to 9:00 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home 2750 Shorter Ave., NW, Rome, Ga. 30165. Services will be at the National Cemetery on Hwy 20, Canton, Ga. on Tuesday March 25th at 11:00 am with Pastor Tommy Harris officiating.
Pallbearers include, Matt Sudberry, Chad Sudberry, Beau Ross, Daniel Clark, Tyler Ross and Brooke Ross.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that anyone wishing to please donate to any VA foundation of your choice (wounded warriors), etc., or first responders (tunnel to towers), etc. The family appreciates any donation to these foundations.
We will miss Grandpa, but we know he has a new body and is with his beloved LouBabe. He is truly now and forever Taking Life Easy.
