H. Winters Obituary
Mr. H.B. Winters, age 84, of Rome died Friday evening from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Winters was born September 12, 1932, son of the late Gene and Dorothy Fincher Winters. He left school after the fifth grade to support his family following the death of his father, and was retired from his official job at General Electric. However , his circumstances growing up and his work ethic kept him busy with a large garden to feed his family, and he was well known as a mechanic.. He always had a helping hand and was a fair and honest man, serving as a great mentor to his family. Mr. Winters was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ruby Shelton, and his wife Carolyn Evelyn Breeden Winters.
Survivors include his children Terry Conway and her husband Dale, Karen "KK" Winters, and Chris Eugene Winters, all of Rome; grandchildren Cody Winters and his wife Summer, and Calli Winters, and two great grandchildren Aalyiah Shye Winters and Sophia Winters.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Reverend Johnny Breeden officiating. The family will receive friends at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
